As we begin wrapping up 2015, I can’t help but think, where did the year go? It seems as if every year flies by and before we know it, we’re gearing up for another new year full of new goals to set, new adventures to have, new beginnings to start, and, as always, new advancements in wireless technology.

We’re overly excited to see what 2016 has in store for us! We expect the smart home market to explode with high-tech, fully connected gadgets that will allow us to be in full control over our homes no matter where the industry trade shows take us. And, although we have noticed that the 2015 predicted numbers may not have quite hit the mark this year, the industry is still expecting to see a major bump once smart home installation becomes a bit more user-friendly. Dive into connected homes on pages 8 – 15, where we cover the full spectrum of the technology, as well as new opportunities within the market.

And really, it wouldn’t be right for me not to mention the Internet of Things (IoT) and 5G. As our world becomes more and more connected, the amount of data we share is continuously increasing—as is our need for speed, hence the big push to define and employ 5G communications. Will we know if the proposed plans will even meet the demands of millions of people with billions of connected devices? Well, no, but you miss 100 percent of the shots you don’t take, ya know. We’ll continue to keep you apprised of the new advancements and breakthroughs as it relates to IoT and 5G on our website, so be sure to check in daily.
