Great Lakes Data Systems (GLDS) said this morning that four Canadian cable operators recently converted to its subscriber management and billing system.
The four operators that are now using GLDS’ WinCable management and billing system are FCNQ, Seaview Communications, South Island Cable and Switch.
GLDS said that Switch has been a part of the commercial television market since 2003 and has been involved in many of the larger oil and gas commercial television installations across Western Canada.
“WinCable simply made sense for us. It does everything we want it to do and more, yet it was the most cost-effective cable billing option we could find,” said Switch President Darren Hokanson. “The Windows-based software was easy to install, and the transition was smooth, allowing us to be productive in no time at all.”
GLDS also announced today from the NCTC Winter Educational Conference that it had partnered with Momentum to provide OSS and billing integration, allowing operators to manage services from a single point-of-entry interface.
The combined platform, which also includes the WinCable system, manages everything from order entry to service updates, including adding, suspending, restoring and disconnecting modems.
Momentum is a provider of private label digital voice services and broadband management to cable operators and municipalities throughout the U.S.
