Atlantic Broadband announced a Gigabit internet service in Connecticut for both residential (GigaEdge) and business (Pro GigaEdge) customers. The services are available to more than 37,000 homes and businesses passed in eastern Connecticut communities including East Lyme, New London, Niantic, Montville, Oakdale, Quaker Hill, Uncasville and Waterford.
Atlantic Broadband reports that its GigaEdge internet speeds are more than 100 times faster than the average residential DSL speed, while Pro GigaEdge is 20 times faster than the fastest DSL download speeds available to businesses today in eastern Connecticut.
Pricing starts at $89.99/month for new residential customers and $249.99/month for new business customers.
“Atlantic Broadband is excited to deliver on its promise to bring cutting-edge speeds to the Connecticut residents and businesses we serve. And, we are thrilled to be the very first company in the state to deliver these residential speeds,” David Isenberg, the operator’s president and chief revenue officer, says. “GigaEdge and Pro GigaEdge will transform the way people communicate, work and play online and we believe it has the power to positively impact the local economy and attract new businesses to the region.”
The GigaEdge services were unveiled on Friday in New London, Conn. The launch event featured local government and business leaders and gave local residents the opportunity to demo the service.
