Despite smartphones being quite handy for us to use, the touchscreen’s keyboard can be finicky and its autocorrect can drive you crazy. Now, Masterkey 4.0 wirelessly connects to a phone and will project a keyboard onto a desk with a big screen display on a nearby wall that acts as a computer screen, according to New Atlas.
The keyboard is designed for boardroom presentations, gaming or as a bedroom computer. It looks similar to Microsoft’s Arc Mouse and is about the size of an iPhone.
The creators believe that the DLP pico projector can project an image of up to 120 diagonal inches onto a wall, although its clarity may not be the best at 854 x 480 resolution. The contrast is 2000:1, but ambient lighting may need to be low during use.
The laser diode QWERTY keyboard is approximately 10 x 4 inches and the IR camera can register 350 characters per minute.
The Masterkey 4.0 wirelessly connects to a smartphone that runs an iOS or Android app over Bluetooth 4.0, but can also cable up to a source device with a USB or HDMI. There is a built-in 5,200 mAh/3.85 V battery, a microSD slot and a speaker.
The team also developed a software that monitors audience interest based on facial expressions and gestures. This means anyone running a presentation can see who is paying attention or who is interested in the room.
