Omron Industrial Automation announces the Safety
Certification for 3G3MX2 AC Drives, open loop control drives with built-in
safety inputs and external device monitoring output that allows machine
designers to integrate the drives into new or existing safety systems with less
hardware and simpler wiring. The 3G3MX2 AC Drives series is equipped with an
array of advanced functionality, including 200% at 0.5 Hz, positioning control,
and simple network configuration with built-in Modbus communications.
The powerful 3G3MX2 AC drives series easily integrates
into safety systems while reducing the hardware and installation costs. Safety
embedded features eliminate the requirement for a redundant dual contactor set-up
at the output of the drive, meaning simpler wiring for the user. The built-in
safety function is certified in accordance to EN60204-1 Stop Category 0 (Safe
torque off), meaning that the safety circuit will override all other functions
and power to the equipment shall be immediately removed. By directly connecting
the drive to an Omron NE1A safety controller ensures compliance to ISO 13849-1,
Cat 3. The 3G3MX2 also provides an external device monitoring output that
confirms the safety status of the AC
Drive, saving the cost of wiring external devices
to carry out the same task.
