Actiontec Electronics launched a new wireless router that serves various network architectures over one device in customers’ homes.
Actiontec’s Q1000H wireless N VDSL modem router features a wireless N radio, Gigabit Ethernet LAN and WAN support, a dual-core 32-bit processor, support for HPNA (LAN and WAN), and memory of 32 MB Flash and 64 MB SDRAM.
With built-in VDSL2 and auto-fallback to ADSL 2+/2, HPNA 3.1 (HomePNA) and Gigabit Ethernet interfaces on the WAN side, the Q1000H provides deployment flexibility.
Carriers can now use the same CPE device across all of their deployment topologies – in metro areas, rural areas and anywhere in between. As a result, the versatile device fits into any ultra-broadband or broadband access architecture, including ADSL, VDSL, fiber-to-the-curb, fiber-to-the-neighborhood, and even fiber-to-the-home.
“We have been working closely with many of the high-speed Internet carriers, and the Q1000H directly addresses the application needs and challenges associated with their current and future broadband initiatives,” said Brian Henrichs, chief business development officer at Actiontec. “By offering a single SKU for an entire broadband architecture, the Q1000H delivers significant operational savings by streamlining ordering, inventory, training, installation and support processes for the service providers.”
