Alcatel-Lucent and Convergys have entered into a multi-year, non-exclusive agreement to integrate Convergys’ Infinys applications into Alcatel-Lucent’s Business Support System (BSS) solution.
The resulting billing solution combines Convergys’ and Alcatel-Lucent’s product portfolios to give service providers a single BSS solution that meets today’s demands for convergent services, the companies said.
Alcatel-Lucent’s BSS solution is strengthened through the partnership by Convergys’ Infinys applications, which extend Alcatel-Lucent’s portfolio of partners, providing pre-integrated solutions simplifying integration and deployment.
Convergys’ Infinys applications are strengthened through the partnership due to the extended market reach via Alcatel-Lucent’s global presence.
“This partnership provides a key element of the converged BSS solution addressing service provider needs to improve business operations, with a single business software system that supports different payment methods, different services (voice, multi-media, blended lifestyle services), along with the evolution to fixed/mobile convergence,” said Jean-Pierre Gaillat, Alcatel-Lucent’s VP of the global OSS/BSS and Software Integration Professional Services Practice.
“Alcatel-Lucent’s highly flexible rating and charging product capabilities and open interfaces complement Convergys’ applications for prepaid and postpaid offers,” added Joelle Gauthier, Alcatel-Lucent’s VP of Convergent Payment Solutions.
