Altice USA has opened what the cable operator is calling its first next-generation retail store, dubbed a customer ‘Experience Center.’
At the 3,695-square feet flagship store, located in Paramus, NJ, customers can interact with Altice’s Optimum-branded digital cable TV, broadband, WiFi, and voice services.
The center will feature interactive displays and demos of products, such as the company’s new cloud-based platform ‘Altice One,’ which is a compact home hub that replaces the traditional cable box, modem, and router.
A 15-foot TV wall demonstrates different places customers can use Optimum WiFi, and features a selfie station, according to Altice.
The Nest suite of smart home connected products will also be on display and available for purchase. In late October, Altice announced it would start offering Nest smart home products and services to customers in conjunction with their TV, phone, and internet offerings.
“What an exciting and unique opportunity for consumers to come together in a community-centric environment at our Experience Centers to test drive current and future technologies, view educational product and online service demos, purchase products, plus have a little fun,” Hakim Boubazine, COO of Altice USA, says in a statement. “With our Experience Centers, we are changing the way we interact with our customers and the way they interact with us by providing a more personal, in-store experience that showcases the many ways we enable seamless connectivity.”
Customers can also purchase third-party merchandise, such as Samsung TVs, tables, and home theater equipment.
The store won’t handle exchanges, returns, or other requests for Optimum equipment, or in-person bill payments, which will need to be done at Altice’s traditional retail stores.
Altice says it intends to open a second ‘Experience Center’ in the coming months in Bay Shore, Long Island.
