Altice has selected the E6000 Converged Edge Router (CER) from Arris International to help deliver Gigabit Internet services to its subscribers. Altice reportedly will deploy the Arris technology in the United States in the recently acquired Suddenlink Communications. It will also deploy with SFR France and Orange-Tricom in the Dominican Republic.
Arris says that the E6000 CER “offers a clear path to DOCSIS 3.1 and also enables significant operational savings in terms of rack-space real estate, power consumption and cooling requirements.”
Max Blumberg, CTO of Altice, says the company is looking forward deploying the platform across the Altice properties “as we strive to deliver the broadband speeds and services our customers demand from us. Working with Arris assures us from both a technological and operational perspective as the Arris E6000 CER is a proven, global platform with a clear roadmap for the future.”
This news adds to Altice’s 1 Gbps product rollouts. As reported back in May, the company also has deployed the Cisco cBR-8 converged broadband router.
