Altice USA is switching up some of its technology leadership with new appointments. Philippe Le May has been named CTO, while Terry Cordova has been promoted to vice chairman of business development for network and technology services.
Le May previously served as CTO with Altice France since 2008, where he led the company’s full scale fiber build, implementation of its home communications hub, and deployment of 4G/4G+ technology in France.
Altice indicates that in his new role, Le May will focus on the build out and expansion of the company’s fiber network infrastructure, enhancements to its new home communications hub, wireless technology projects, and next generation products and services. Le May will report to Co-President and Chief Operating Officer Hakim Boubazine.
Earlier in August, Altice said it was on track to deploy fiber to reach 1 million newly constructed homes by the end of 2018. Design and construction has already begun for several hundred thousand homes in Connecticut, New York, and New Jersey, according to the company.
“Philippe’s vast experience in fixed and mobile technologies, executing a full-scale fiber build, integrating systems, and developing solutions that strengthen networks will provide significant benefits to Altice USA customers as we enhance the overall customer experience,” Boubazine comments. “His notable background and proven success in quickly and effectively implementing technology and operational strategy make him a terrify addition to our team.”
Cordova for his part, will help implement Altice’s U.S. network and technology growth strategy efforts, the company says. He will also represent Altice’s technical capabilities, and offerings to current and potential partners in the telecom and media space. Cordova will report to Altice’s Co-President and CEO, Dexter Goei.
“Terry is a respected leader in our industry and within Altice USA, and has made substantial contributions to the company, spearheading the advancement of our fiber-to-the-home network, upgrading our networks and formulating strategic external partnerships for the company,” Goei notes. “He is the ideal person to take on this strategic role as we position Altice for continued success and further growth in the U.S.”
