Altice USA on Wednesday appointed Jean-Charles Nicolas to lead its forthcoming wireless service.
Nicolas, as SVP of Altice Mobile, will lead the development, launch and strategy of the new business and be responsible for the end-to-end customer experience, the cable operator said in a statement.
Altice USA, which completed its spin-off from European telecom Altice NV this month, signed an MVNO agreement late last year with Sprint to become the latest cable giant to move into the wireless market.
Altice Mobile is expected to debut next year.
Nicolas’ newly created position, located with the rest of the Altice wireless group in Long Island City, N.Y., will report to Altice USA Co-President and COO Hakim Boubazine.
“Jean-Charles brings with him more than 20 years of experience in the mobile communications industry, and we are pleased to have him join us in the U.S. as we prepare to launch our mobile service and introduce disruptive and differentiating offers to our residential and business customers,” Boubazine said.
Nicolas previously served as the Deputy CEO and CFO at Altice Dominicana.
