The FCC has granted Altice USA permission to conduct mobile trials in the 3.5 GHz CBRS band at two locations beginning in September, as the cable operator prepares to launch its own wireless service in 2019.
In its requests for special temporary authority, Altice said it plans to run tests Jonesboro, Ark., and Deer Park, N.Y., operating between 3680 MHz and 3700 MHz, and 3650 MHz and 3700 MHz, respectively.
Altice will conduct outdoor and indoor tests using experimental small cell and user equipment from Ericsson, Nokia, Airspan, Arris’ Ruckus Wireless and Berkeley Varitronics Systems.
