fuboTV is adding a host of AMC Networks’ linear channels to its base package, along with subscription-video-on-demand services for the first time.
New subscribers can get channels including AMC, BBC America, Sundance, IFC and WE tv, as part of fuboTV’s Fubo Premier base package for just under $20 for the first month, following a seven-day free trial. fuboTV did not indicate exactly when the offering will launch, only saying “soon.”
At a later date, BBC World News will be available as part of a pending premium package, fuboTV said.
Through the agreement subscribers also have free access to AMC Networks’ streaming services Sundance Now, and horror-focused Shudder. The virtual MVPD said this marks the first time fuboTV is offering SVOD services to subscribers.
In the future, AMC Premiere, an ad-free option for AMC shows, will be available on an add-on basis.
“fuboTV is fast-becoming a popular streaming option for viewers who want access to the best live sports and entertainment content available on any device and we are pleased to bring our popular, distinct and culturally relevant networks and streaming services to their line-up,” said Bob Broussard, president of Distribution for AMC Networks., in a statement. “AMC Networks’ brands and content are highly sought after by consumers, who increasingly enjoy our shows, across multiple platforms.”
As part of the strategic partnership, AMC Networks content will also be available to fuboTV subscribers through video-on-demand, and users will be able to use fuboTV logins to gain access to AMC Networks TV Everywhere apps and websites.
“Not only will our subscribers soon have access to entertainment content that drives some of the biggest audiences on TV, we are also looking forward to building on our partnership in the days and weeks to come,” said fuboTV CFO Joel Armijo.
