ARRIS has appointed Dr. Hubert Wo to direct the company’s technical operations in China.

Dr. Wo joins ARRIS following several years in Hangzhou, China, where he helped UTStarcom build its Chinese R&D facilities. Before that, he led the integration, testing and design verification of Lucent Access’ DLC, HFC and DSL products.

“We are very excited about bringing on such a well-respected and qualified executive to help chart our growth in the dynamic Chinese market,” said ARRIS New Business Ventures President Bryant Isaacs.  “China has over 130 million cable subscribers and is rapidly rolling out advanced digital services in anticipation of the 2008 Olympic Games.”
