Arris has beefed up its wireless portfolio of offerings for cable service providers, thanks to a reseller agreement it signed with Ruckus Wireless.
With the new global agreement, which was announced this morning, Arris is now able to market Ruckus’ portfolio of Wi-Fi products.
“We are pleased to enter this relationship with Ruckus Wireless, which will enable us to offer both indoor and outdoor wireless access solutions to the marketplace,” said Arris vice president and general manager of the supplies division Bob Puccini. “With this expanded portfolio, we can now provide proven and robust wireless solutions to address the mobile wireless marketplace within the cable service provider space.”
With the Ruckus products onboard, the Arris said its Wi-Fi portfolio brings several significant operational and cost benefits to customers, including adaptive Wi-Fi that automatically optimizes in noisy environments, extended signal range with more consistent performance over longer distances, and simplified configuration and installation.
Arris also recently announced that Debora Wilson, who was formerly the president and CEO of The Weather Channel, has joined its board of directors.
“Debora brings tremendous program content related experience to our board of directors that will help guide Arris through the ongoing transformation of the information industry,” said Arris Chairman and CEO Bob Stanzione. “Debora’s addition greatly adds to the skill sets that our directors currently bring to the table. We welcome her addition to the board.”
Wilson joined The Weather Channel in 1994 as senior vice president of new business development and also held key operating roles as president of The Weather Channel Interactive (1999), chief operating officer (2002), and president and CEO (2004).
