Arris said yesterday that it anticipates second quarter sales to be slightly below its previous guidance for the quarter due to the maturing demand for some of its products.
In the company’s updated second quarter guidance, Arris said revenues in the second quarter were expected to be in the range of $278 million to $280 million. Arris projected revenues of between $288 million to $303 million in its April outlook.
Arris also said it expects its bookings and backlog to be much improved compared to the first quarter.
“Our revised guidance for the second quarter is primarily driven by maturing demand for EMTAs as well as for plant extension and installation equipment,” said Arris chairman and CEO Bob Stanzione. “On the positive side, our CMTS demand continued to be strong and we expect to report improved gross margins as compared to the first quarter. Also, strong order input, particularly for our next generation DOCSIS 3.0 equipment, indicates significant improvement in the third quarter and beyond.”
Arris will release its second-quarter results on July 30.
