Panorama Tower, a new, 83-story development that will include 821 luxury apartments in downtown Miami, announced it will get its TV, Internet and communications services from Atlantic Broadband. Construction of the building is slated for completion by the end of 2017, and it will be the tallest building in Florida and the tallest residential tower on the eastern seaboard south of New York City.
Atlantic Broadband will invest $4.5 million to create a redundant fiber-to-the-unit network for the 830-foot-tall landmark-to-be.
The company also will offer business services to commercial and retail spaces in and around the property including metro Ethernet that can scale up to 1 Gbps symmetrically, and hosted voice. Businesses include a 208-room hotel, 100,000-square-foot medical office space and 50,000 square feet of high-end retail space.
For residents, Atlantic Broadband will be deploying its multi-screen digital entertainment TiVo service with expanded options for live, recorded, and on-demand TV and web content. They’ll also have access to Internet speeds up to 1 Gbps with capabilities to scale.
Atlantic Broadband also is deploying a solution to enable high-quality carrier neutral cellular coverage throughout the complex using a distributed antenna system (DAS) connected to its all-fiber network. “This will enable residents and guests to use their mobile devices seamlessly, in and around the property limits, regardless of the wireless carrier,” Atlantic reports in a press release.
“Panorama Tower is a massive undertaking with its three-million-square-foot complex, and we’re excited to deploy the fastest and best technologies for area residents and businesses, as well as be part of history in having a hand in one of the biggest projects in Miami and on the eastern seaboard,” Atlantic Broadband’s President and CEO Richard Shea says.
The building is being developed by Florida East Coast Realty, which reports that it was looking for not only very fast Internet and advanced TV, but “impeccable” wireless coverage – no matter the carrier.
“In the planning stages for Panorama Tower, we sought partners who were committed to delivering the ‘best of the best’ in design, technology, and innovation, and Atlantic Broadband had the vision and expertise that we needed,” Tibor Hollo, FECR chairman and president says.
