AT&T adds more live channels to U-verse app

AT&T’s authenticated subscribers can now view 27 additional live channels with the U-verse App for tablets and smartphones.

With the latest additions, U-verse TV customers can now watch a total of 136 live channels inside the home and 44 live channel outside of their homes. Customers with “U-family” or higher U-verse TV tiers can watch the new channels at no additional cost

New channels available to watch in and outside the home included:

•     BBC America

•     BBC World News

•        Disney Channel

•         Disney Junior

•        Disney XD

•        beIN Sports

•         beIN Sports en Español

•         FOX News Channel

•        FOX Business Network

•        Pivot

New channels available to watch inside the home included:

•         Boomerang

•         Boomerang Español

•         Cartoon Network

•         Cartoon Network – West Coast Feed

•         CNN

•         CNN International

•         CNN en Español

•        HLN

•         Longhorn Network

•        Ovation

•         TBS

•        TBS – West Coast Feed

•         TNT

•         TNT – West Coast Feed

•         TruTV

•         TruTV – West Coast Feed

•         Turner Classic Movies

 

Customers can also now watch the live Turner channels inside and outside the home on AT&T’s web portal.

“We all want the freedom and flexibility to watch TV on the devices we’re using most,” said Mel Coker, chief marketing officer, AT&T Home Solutions. “We’re giving customers more live TV channels on more devices, all included at a great value as part of their regular TV packages. We look forward to working with content providers to bring more live content to customers soon.”

AT&T first launched the live TV streams on its app in October. Also last year, Time Warner Cable started serving up to 11 live linear channels to iOS and Android devices, as well as live and select VOD titles via its TWC TV site, while Cox Communications’ Contour app featured video content on the go for both Android and iOS devices.

In 2013, Verizon upgraded its FiOS Mobile App to offer out-of-home access to nine live channels while Comcast updated its app to offer 35 live channels out of the home on Apple and Android devices.
