The Society of Cable Telecommunications Engineers (SCTE) said that 11,000 cable telecommunications professionals attended the 25th Anniversary SCTE Cable-Tec Expo 2008 in Philadelphia, an increase of 300 attendees compared with Expo 2007 in Orlando and a 4 percent increase compared with Expo 2003, the last time the event was held in Philadelphia.
Expo, SCTE’s flagship event, this year featured a sold-out, technology-focused exhibit hall and 20-plus technical workshops. The event began last Tuesday and concluded on Friday.
“Expo has exceeded expectations these past few days in Philadelphia,” said SCTE President and CEO John Clark. “Our attendees have benefited greatly from Expo’s all-engineering, all-the-time atmosphere throughout the convention center.”
SCTE, which will celebrate its 40th anniversary next year, will conduct Expo 2009 Oct. 28–30 in Denver.
