ATX Networks is dropping the license-based model for selling transcoders with the launch of its new VersAtivePro transcoding platform.
The company said its goal with VersAtivePro is to make it the most budget-friendly solution in the professional quality transcoder market.
The license-based model makes it problematic for service providers who want to switch some HDs to SDs or vice-versa, migrate from primary to redundant units, or completely reconfiguring transcoders, ATX explained.
By eliminating licenses, the company said, users the freedom to transcode what they want, when they want, and how they want.
VersAtivePro devices are cluster manageable with a single UI for managing multiple units. The line also offers multiple redundancy types (support for N+M and other advanced redundancy schemas).
