Aurora gets new digs

Recently, companies have been announcing layoffs and downsizing efforts left and right, but Aurora Networks announced today that the company is relocating to new facilities, increasing its capacity by more than 100 percent.

The move is a nice anniversary present for the company, which celebrates a decade in business this year.

“Despite the current state of the economy, Aurora Networks has continued to experience growth by providing innovative solutions and best-in-class service to exceed our customers’ needs,” said Guy Sucharczuk, chairman, president and CEO of Aurora Networks. “MSOs who need cost-effective, reliable, bandwidth-scaling transport products rely on Aurora Networks’ optical transport solutions to optimize the balance between bandwidth needs and revenue-generating subscriber services. Our commitment to the cable industry has supported our consistent growth, which proves that we are the preferred solution in the industry.”

According to Aurora, the company is more than doubling its production capacity with the expanded manufacturing areas. In addition, the areas dedicated to optical design laboratories and equipment, headend and hub hot system and demonstration areas, and related test and instrumentation labs have also been extended.

John Dahlquist, Aurora Networks’ vice president of marketing, told CED that the company has gone from having one optical lab to having three in the new digs.

Dahlquist also touted Aurora’s 11 consecutive quarters of profitability, its 56 percent revenue compound annual growth rate (CAGR) in the last six years, and its Fiber Deep architecture and digital return technology, which address specific issues in the cable industry – the only market that Aurora serves.
