Cablevision Argentina has picked Avail-TVN to launch a video-on-demand (VOD) service to its subscriber base of more than 3 million cable TV customers. The new service, Cablevision On Demand, launched this week.
Cablevision On Demand includes a range of both transaction VOD (TVOD) services, including the latest Hollywood movies, and subscription VOD (SVOD) services.
Cablevision joins Avail-TVN’s customer base of more than 300 service providers in more than 25 countries. Avail-TVN works with service providers to help them access and distribute new releases and library titles from major Hollywood studios in multiple formats, including 3-D, HD and across multiple devices.
“Video-on-demand continues to provide significant revenue opportunity for operators worldwide,” said Ramu Potarazu, CEO at Avail-TVN. “We’re thrilled by the continued growth in the sector globally, especially in Latin America, and are very excited to enter the market in Argentina with the leading cable provider, Cablevision.”
Last month, Avail-TVN announced that it was providing video content for the Google Fiber broadband TV service, which launched in July in Kansas City.
