BabyFirst, which is a TV channel targeted at toddlers and their parents, announced today that it had launched on Suddenlink, the nation’s seventh-largest cable operator.
BabyFirst’s programming is now available to nearly all of Suddenlink’s 1.4 million video subscribers.
“BabyFirst is a terrific addition to our channel lineup,” said Kathy Payne, Suddenlink Senior Vice President and Chief Programming Officer. “The network delivers something new and different to our customers and will be of great value to parents with babies.”
The BabyFirst channel is currently available to more than 81 million households in 33 countries. In addition to Suddenlink, the network is available in the United States to more than 41 million homes via basic packages on DirecTV, Dish Network, Comcast and AT&T.
“We look forward to providing our unique content to Suddenlink’s customers with young children,” said Sharon Rechter, senior vice president, business development and distribution, BabyFirst. “We are confident that parents will find great value in our content, which provides an engaging experience for babies during the first stages of their lives.”
Starting earlier this week, Suddenlink and Viacom became locked in a retransmission agreement impasse that has blocked Viacom’s online video content and TV content from Suddenlink’s subscribers.
