According to a Wednesday report on BBC One, some Virgin Media customers in the United Kingdom are not getting the broadband speeds they were promised, and in some cases they’re receiving just a measly fraction. For example, the report says some customers got only 3 percent of the speeds promised, and many issues seem to stem from over-utilization of the network after the company signed up too many customers in some areas.
The “BBC Watchdog” program notes that while people were paying for promised speeds around 200 Mbps, streaming and downloading has been a struggle for some Virgin Media customers in the affected areas.
Virgin Media reportedly has not confirmed how many customers have been affected.
