Jim Blackley has joined the roster of former Cablevision executives that have migrated over to Charter Communications. Blackley was hired as Charter’s executive vice president of engineering and information technology.
In his new job, Blackley has oversight of the advanced engineering and information technology teams at Charter.
Blackley resigned from his position as Cablevision’s executive vice president of corporate engineering and technology in March after 16 years with the company. Blackley is reunited with former Cablevision chief operating officer Tom Rutledge, who resigned from Cablevision in December and was subsequently hired as Charter’s CEO and president the same month. Blackley reports to Rutledge and has already joined Charter.
“Jim’s experience spearheading the rollout of industry-leading, innovative cable and Internet solutions will prove invaluable as Charter maximizes the full potential of our network architecture,” Rutledge said.
In addition to Rutledge, Blackley joins chief marketing officer Jonathan Hargis, chief operating officer John Bickham and executive vice president of network operations Scott Weber at Charter after previously working with them at Cablevision.
