The MEF Carrier Ethernet 2.0 Service Certification Program is the framework through which service providers can demonstrate compliance with globally-recognized MEF Carrier Ethernet standards. Carriers that have achieved CE 2.0 certification are recognized for their ability to deliver Ethernet services with five key attributes: Standardization, Scalability, Reliability, Quality of Service and Service Management.
Tektronix, a provider of video quality monitoring solutions, announced that Griffin Communications, a multi-media and broadcasting company based in Oklahoma City, is using the Sentry series of video network monitors to gain insight into the video and audio quality of experience (QoE) it is delivering to viewers and to demonstrate compliance with the CALM Act for audio loudness as well as with close captioning requirements.
CBS Corporation and Stan, a joint venture between Nine Entertainment Co. and Fairfax Media, announced a long-term, exclusive licensing agreement that will bring all future SHOWTIME series and hundreds of hours of SHOWTIME programming to the Australian streaming service. It will also provide Stan with an exclusive license to the SHOWTIME brand and trademark, making Stan the official home of SHOWTIME in Australia.
Penske Media Corporation (PMC) has acquired Indiewire.com, a website for independent film and television, from SnagFilms, Inc.
The purchase furthers Penske Media’s entertainment content and news businesses assets, joining brands that include Variety Inc., Deadline Hollywood, TVLine.com, Hollywood Life, Gold Derby, Variety Insight, Bollywood Life, LA411, NY411, and Variety Latino (a joint venture with Univision).
Financial terms of the acquisition were not disclosed.
