Comcast Business announced a major expansion of its advanced fiber-based network to the Sugar House business district in Salt Lake City, Utah, providing a combination of national chains and small boutiques with a range of new technology services, including Internet services delivered over fiber and coax, high definition TV and phone services.
SES S.A. and Intersat announced they have signed a multi-year contract to expand Intersat’s internet service offerings to East Africa. Intersat is utilizing the Ku-band capacity on SES’s NSS-12 satellite via the SES Djibouti teleport. The company will offer shared and dedicated internet services delivered via the latest and most advanced iDirect VSAT technology, with a capacity of up to 70Mbps. Intersat currently serves over 200 VSAT terminals using the SES service.
Time Warner Cable Business Class announced the availability of new Business Internet speed tiers up to 300 Mbps throughout the Triangle area of North Carolina. The new business services speed tiers, mainly targeted at small to medium-sized businesses (SMBs), include 100×10, 200×20, and 300×20 Mbps, and are enabled by recent upgrades to TWCBC’s network. The MSO completed its “TWC Maxx” upgrade program in the Triangle area last week.
Firetalk announced a new feature, Guest, that allows any broadcaster on Firetalk to invite audience members to join them on-air during a live episode. Firetalk also announced it will launch the new feature with 15 channels including all-new partnerships with Maggie Lindemann, TMZ, TheWrap and several leading social media stars including Dr. Tabasum Mir, Pooja Kumar, Jared Tousley, Ross Everett, Sam Collins and Brian Fanzo.
