At NAB 2016 in Las Vegas this week, ContentWise launched its Content Personalization System, which enables operators to provide personalized pay TV, OTT, VOD and streaming services. ContentWise 5.4 will be the first TV UX personalization API expressly designed for multiscreen developers and designers, according to the company.
Features in the release include a UX API “to simplify the development of personalized TV apps and provide the operator with a single point of control over the viewer’s experience.” Also, a new automated ‘user cold start’ feature is said to offer a personalized set of collections and discovery options within a few seconds of a new viewer coming on-board. It also includes support for automatic microgenres generation and personalization. ContentWise reportedly builds thousands of unique collections by automatically clustering content and then matches them to individual viewers in real time.
