Hitron Technologies Americas Inc. announced it is demonstrating CODA, the industry’s first Intel-based DOCSIS 3.1 cable modem at SCTE Cable-Tec Expo ’15 this week at Ernest N. Morial Convention Center in New Orleans. Utilizing Intel Puma 7 SoC, Hitron’s CODA will support download speeds up to 5 Gbps and upload speeds of one Gbps enabling cable operators to deploy next-generation, bandwidth-intensive applications and services to differentiate their service offerings and increase revenues.
EMCORE Corporation announced that it will host a demonstration of its Medallion Series CATV Transmission System at the Society of Cable Television’s (SCTE) Cable-Tec Expo, Booth #2821, October 14-16, 2015 at the Earnest N. Morial Convention Center in New Orleans, Louisiana. The system on display will feature EMCORE’s 19″ rack-mount Medallion Series 1550 nm CATV Transmitter, Optical A/B Switch and CATV Fiber Amplifier. Medallion Series Transmitters are available for direct or external modulation and are based on EMCORE’s proprietary laser technology.
Telco Systems announced that the company has launched a new cyber-protection solution to address many of the security vulnerabilities associated with deploying SDN and NFV technologies and infrastructures. The deployment of SDN and NFV technologies offers telecommunications service providers and other network operators numerous operational and business benefits, although, at the same time, exposes service providers to a range of “IT-like” security vulnerabilities. The new NFV CyberGuard solution consists of network monitoring sensors embedded on Telco Systems’ CloudMetro virtualization platform, a big data analytics engine and an SDN controller running on Telco Systems’ EdgeGenie Orchestrator.
During the SCTE Cable-Tec Expo in New Orleans, CommScope will introduce its enhanced fiber wall box portfolio designed to simplify installation and reduce the cost of taking fiber deeper into both multi-dwelling unit (MDU) and single-family dwelling unit (SFU) environments. The fiber wall boxes are available in multiple sizes and configurations for splice, connectorized and indoor/outdoor applications, provide an end-to-end solution for in-building construction, and address the need for targeted installation budgets.
