CableLabs has certified Sagemcom cable media gateway F@st 3890 against DOCSIS 3.1 specifications in the first certification wave (CW 116). The media gateway can operate simultaneously DOCSIS 3.1 and DOCSIS 3.0 32×8. It includes the last generation Wi-Fi 4*4 11ac wave 2 for 5GHz, 4*4 11n for 2.4GHz, and implements MU-MIMO advanced wireless technology.
Emcore introduced its MEDALLION 6100 Series DOCSIS 3.1 1,550 nm externally modulated CATV transmitter. It supports the DOCSIS 3.1 standard of 1.2 GHz in the CATV domain, and optionally up to 3.5 GHz in the SAT-IF band to support new international satellite deployments. Gain tilt control also is available for both the CATV and SAT-IF band.
Verizon will discontinue its FiOS TV apps for Xbox game consoles and smart TVs at the end of this month, according to an email it sent to subscribers that was posted by Ars Technica. Verizon adds that people can watch TV content on its FiOS Mobile app from a smartphone or tablet. A spokesperson told Ars that the decision was due to “the limited number of FiOS customers who were using the FiOS app on the Xbox 360 and Xbox One.”
