TiVo announced its Q4 results, highlighting that its subscriptions are nearing 7 million, up 24 percent year-over-year. Service and software and technology revenue growth included a 45 percent increase in media services and other revenue, primarily from the acquisition of Cubiware, whose business experienced growth with operators like Columbus Communications (part of Cable & Wireless) and Cablemas (part of Televisa), and increased Digitalsmiths household deployments with DISH Network, Charter and Time Warner Cable.
Harmonic has completed the acquisition of Thomson Video Networks. Last December, Harmonic announced a binding offer to acquire TVS.

Mojo Networks is partnering with Alpha Technologies to make available a cloud-managed WiFi platform to cable operators as demand for wide-scale hotspots increases throughout the outside plant. “Allying with Mojo Networks as a strategic investor and market development partner will enable Alpha’s global broadband customers to rapidly increase their number of hotspots and strategically deploy the latest networking technologies to their end users quickly,” Drew Zogby, president and CEO at Alpha says.
LG Electronics USA added GameFly to LG’s webOS-enabled Smart TVs. The GameFly Streaming App will launch in late April and will enable U.S. consumers to access GameFly’s console gaming content.
