Bright House Networks is on the board with Verizon Wireless now that the two companies have started their joint marketing efforts in Orlando.
Bright House Networks, the nation’s sixth-largest cable operator, is the last MSO to start cross-promoting its triple-play services with Verizon Wireless’ smartphones and tablets. The joint marketing effort is the end result of Verizon Wireless’ $3.9 billion purchase of wireless spectrum from Bright House Networks, Comcast, Time Warner Cable and Cox Communications.
Qualified customers who are based in metro Orlando can now purchase packages of Bright House Networks video, Internet and voice services and Verizon Wireless smartphones and tablets from both companies, and they may be eligible to receive a Visa prepaid debit card valued up to $200, depending on the package they pick.
Customers can choose their combination of services from a range of offers that include video, Internet, home phone and mobile service. On the low end, double-play bundles start at $100 a month for two years, while triple-play services, which includes Bright House Networks’ own phone service and interactive features such as Start Over, begin at $110.
The products and services are available at Verizon Wireless and authorized agent stores across the Orlando area, as well as through websites hosted by both companies. Markets that launched yesterday include several cities in Florida.
“Together with Verizon Wireless, we look forward to expanding our customers’ entertainment options and bring more value, choice and convenience with our combined services,” said Mike Robertson, senior vice president of Florida operations for Bright House Networks.
Both companies said they expect to offer the joint packages and services in additional Bright House Networks markets in the coming months.
“Our joint marketing with Bright House Networks is created on the foundation that mobility and entertainment are important in the lifestyles of our mutual customer base,” said Pam Tope, Florida region president for Verizon Wireless. “Our mission is to deliver solid wireless and communications products with long-term value to the end user, resulting in an enjoyable all-around experience. Bright House Networks continues to deliver the highest-quality entertainment and communications services in Orlando, and the Verizon Wireless 4G LTE network is the perfect complement to round out the package.”
Verizon Wireless is jointly held by U.K. telecommunications giant Vodafone and Verizon Communications. Bright House Networks was one of the first cable operators in the nation to compete with Verizon’s FiOS service when it launched in Florida.
In January, Comcast became the first cable operator to launch a cross-promotional offering with Verizon Wireless. Time Warner Cable and Cox Communications followed up with their own marketing efforts with Verizon Wireless later in the year.
