Bright House Networks has promoted Craig Cowden to senior vice president of network engineering and operations.
In his new position, Cowden is responsible for the architecture, engineering and operational support for all voice and data services, including commercial services and cell backhaul. He’s also working on strategic planning and implementation for Bright House Networks’ wireless initiatives.
Cowden works in Bright House Networks’ Tampa Bay office and reports to President Nomi Bergman.
“Craig’s leadership has played a key role in converging end-to-end service delivery and business operations support for our fiber-based business customers,” Bergman said. “His proven track record in operations is invaluable as we move forward in providing the best in products and customer service.”
Last year, Cowden was named vice president and general manager of business operations and support services for Bright House Networks, where he was responsible for leading the existing competitive local exchange carrier (CLEC) business operations in Tampa.
Prior to joining Bright House, Cowden served as vice president of network service delivery and vice president of cable/VoIP service delivery for Sprint.
Bright House Networks, along with Time Warner Cable and Comcast, invested in 4G wireless provider Clearwire two years ago.
