Bright House Networks Business Solutions has landed a deal to provide its services to Florida Polytechnic University, which is slated to open its doors next fall.
As part of the agreement, Bright House Networks will provide Florida Polytechnic University, a science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) school, metro Ethernet, dedicated Internet Access, hosted voice and video services. Bright House Networks will also provide temporary services to accommodate staff moving onsite in the coming months.
“Bright House Networks’ understood exactly what we wanted to accomplish, and their solution was customized to our specific goals,” said Bryan Mehaffey, technology consultant, for Florida Polytechnic University. “We are pleased to begin working with Bright House Networks as we prepare to open our facility, and are confident that they have the skill sets and infrastructure to support our technology needs now and into the future.”
Financial terms of the deal weren’t available.
“Bright House Networks has the state of the art solutions that Florida Polytechnic requires as a STEM institution,” said Craig Cowden, senior vice president, network engineering, operations and enterprise solutions, Bright House Networks. “Our customized solution will enable them to meet the needs of their students for many years to come, and our ability to scale our services will help keep costs in line as the university continues to grow.”
Bright House Networks is the sixth largest cable operator in the nation, and the second largest in Florida, with systems located in five states including Florida, Alabama, Indiana, Michigan and California.
