Bright House Networks is the latest announced customer for home automation and home security vendor iControl.
The nation’s sixth-largest cable operator is using the iControl Converge software platform for its home security and control service that was first offered two years ago in Florida.
With iControl’s platform, Bright House Networks Home Security & Control service features centrally monitored and self-managed security, as well as energy, light and home appliance management via an in-home touchscreen, the web and smart phones.
The alert feature enables users to customize their systems to send instant text or email notifications when the kids have returned home safely after school, or if there is suspicious behavior around the home. Users can even receive live or recorded video of their homes. In addition to creating and monitoring system settings, users can check the news and weather, watch live and recorded video feed of home activity and more.

IControl has become the cable industry’s go-to security systems partner, with a customer base that includes Comcast, Cox Communications, Time Warner Cable, Rogers Cable, Bright House Networks, Bell Aliant, Swisscom, Comporium, and Midcontinent Communications.
Comcast and Rogers are among iControl’s investors, along with Cisco, Intel Capital, Charles River Ventures, the Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers iFund, and Tyco International, the parent company of ADT Security Services, which also resells iControl systems.
