Bright House Networks has rolled out the next version of its Bright House TV App (BHTV), which includes a new interactive program (IPG) guide and remote DVR capabilities.
The new IPG lets users navigate through up to seven days of program listings and has extensive search capabilities. The remote DVR manager feature gives subscribers the ability to schedule and manage their DVR recordings via their smartphones or other devices.
The free app allows viewers to watch live streaming television anywhere within their homes on their iPads, iPhones, third and fourth generation iPod Touch and select Android smartphone and tablet devices.
Bright House Networks, the nation’s sixth-largest cable operator, first launched the app on iPads two years ago and then across other iOS and Android devices last year.
The Bright House TV App features more than 100 channels on a variety of programming networks, including NFL Network, HBO, Cinemax, Starz, Showtime, The Movie Channel, A&E, Discovery, Lifetime, Cartoon Network, SyFy, CNN, Disney Channel, TLC, History, Travel Channel, USA, and AMC. The company also recently added TWC Sports Network, TWC Deportes, BBC America, BBC World News, TV Guide Network HD, and TV One HD.
Bright House video customers must subscribe to the linear channels in order to view them on their smartphones and tablets. Customers must also have a data connection and a wireless router to use the Bright House TV App.
