* Verizon expands FiOS TV in California
Verizon has launched its FiOS TV service to consumers in Redlands and Redondo Beach, Calif.
The telco said it is offering the service in more than a dozen communities in the state through approved franchises in Apple Valley, Banning, Beaumont, Murrieta, Hermosa Beach, Lake Elsinore, Manhattan Beach, Malibu, Ontario, Temecula, Thousand Oaks and unincorporated parts of Riverside County.
* IICIT appoints new officers
The International Institute of Connector & Interconnect Technology (IICIT) has appoitned Dale Reed to president of the association for the 2007/2008 term.
Reed, who serves as SVP of sales and marketing for Stratos International, is joined by Treasurer Anthony Romeo of Sunband Corp.; and Secretary Douglas Parker of Greenlee-Textron Tempo Operations.
The 2007 IICIT Symposium and Expo is set to run May 8-9, 2007 in Boston.
* Smith will lead Vonage Network
Vonage Holdings Corp. is stripping Tim Smith of his interim status as president of Vonage Network; Smith has been granted the post on a permanent basis.
He started with Vonage in July 2005 as SVP of Network and Systems Infrastructure, and was appointed acting president in June 2006. Prior to joining Vonage, Smith worked in various management roles for Sun Microsystems, UUNET Technologies, and Wayport.
