* Harmonic picks HD tech partner
Harmonic Inc. has selected Ambarella Inc.’s “A2” platform for its HD H.264 compression architecture.

Under the arrangement, Harmonic will team the Ambarella A2 Encoder system with its DiviCom Electra MPEG-4 AVC (H.264) HD and SD encoders. The A2 is designed to encode full 1080i x 1920 resolution HD in a single chip.
