• SureWest deploys Allied Telesis’ gateways in Sacramento
By Traci Patterson
SureWest Communications is set to use Allied Telesis’ iMG626MOD for active fiber-to-the-home (FTTH) deployment by the operator’s operating subsidiaries in Sacramento.
Allied Telesis has provided Intelligent Multiservice Gateways (iMGs) to SureWest for FTTH since 2004. After testing and field trials of the iMG600 MOD, SureWest has chosen the fourth generation of iMG.
“We are pleased to have our latest evolution of home gateway being deployed by SureWest. They are an industry recognized leader in FTTH deployments, and their decision to use our iMG MOD in their deployment is an affirmation that our innovations in achieving OPEX savings through the iMG MOD reflect industry needs,” said Bill Allen, vice president of sales and operations.
