* Suddenlink deploys management system from Sigma
Sigma Systems received an order from Suddenlink Communications for its Service Management Platform (SMP) 3.0, and its Cable Solution 3.1 automated service management software.
Suddenlink will use the Sigma products to provision its high-speed data and VoIP telephony subscribers. Suddenlink Communications, formerly known as Cebridge Connections, has approximately 1.4 million customers.
* EchoStar supplies more bandwidth
EchoStar Satellite Operating Corp. (ESOC), a subsidiary of EchoStar Communications, has agreed to provide full-time Ku-bandwidth capacity to support the consumer satellite programming business of National Programming Service LLC (NPS).
Under the multi-year deal, NPS will tap transponder bandwidth on EchoStar VII, one of EchoStar’s 14 owned and/or leased satellites.
NPS has been providing C-band satellite programming since 1985, and has been uplinking channels since 2004.
