* OpVista picks a pair of veeps
OpVista hired John B. Giarolo as senior vice president of worldwide sales, responsible for the further growth and enhancement of OpVista’s sales organization across the globe. Giarolo most recently served as senior vice president of sales with Soma Networks.

OpVista also brought on Thi Nguyen as vice president of software engineering. Nguyen had been vice president of engineering with Verilink Corp.  

* Gotuit creates way to skip thru video to the good bits
Gotuit Media  introduced to its online video portal what it’s calling a social video tagging application. Called SceneMaker, the application enables consumers to define and tag specific scenes in videos posted on hosting sites such as YouTube and Metacafe. For example, a user who finds a great joke within a 10-minute comedy video posted elsewhere can use SceneMaker to mark that segment of video.
