* Energy vet joins NCTA
Former CFO of the U.S. Department of Energy Dr. Bruce Carnes has been appointed SVP, finance and administration for the National Cable & Telecommunications Association (NCTA).
Reporting to NCTA President & CEO Kyle McSlarrow, Carnes will head up the organization’s newly-created Finance and Administration Department.
NCTA added that SVP for Industry Affairs and Chief Administrative Officer Barbara York will head up efforts to diversify next year’s National Show, and manage the NCTA’s forthcoming move next fall to a new facility at 25 Massachusetts Ave., N.W., in Washington, D.C.
* Sigma expands EMEA footprint
OSS specialist Sigma Systems has opened a new London-based office, and has appointed Stephen Davids to vice president – Europe, Middle East, Africa (EMEA).
Davids has held executive slots at Cable and Wireless and CoManage, another OSS vendor.
