* Vonage raises $250 M more
Vonage Holdings Corp. has raised $250 million in convertible debt funding via a group of investors led by Bain Capital. The addition extends Vonage’s total funding to $658 million.
Vonage said it will use the funds to build out its U.S. network, including support for E911.
* Nortel secures German cable footprint
Nortel Networks said it has inked a deal to supply an optical Ethernet network for Germany-based cable MSO Unity Media GmbH.
Unity Media will tap the new network to support VoIP, video-on-demand and high-speed Internet services. The network consolidates the services of ish and iesy, and will serve north of five million subs in the North Rhine-Westphalia and Hessen regions.
