* EarthLink, BellSouth extend DSL deal
EarthLink Inc. has secured a deal that will allow the ISP to continue offering DSL services in BellSouth territories.
The new agreement gives EarthLink the green light through 2008. Financial terms were not disclosed, but EarthLink said it will receive “competitive rates” for 3 Mbps DSL service.
* ViaSat adds Rodopi support
ViaSat Inc. has integrated Rodopi Software Inc.’s OSS into its DOCSIS-based satellite broadband network system.
The combo will add Web-based provisioning, billing and customer care functions to ViaSat’s two-way SurfBeam platform.
* NCTA dials up ‘VoiceNET’
VoIP will be the central theme of a new pavilion set to debut at the 2006 National Show, set to run April 9-11 in Atlanta.
The 5,000 square-foot VoiceNET pavilion will feature a collection of exhibits and displays related to cable-based delivery of voice services. More specifically, it will touch on digital signal processing, packet processing, encryption technology, service authentication, and peripheral interfaces.
