Suddenlink Communications has promoted Craig Rosenthal to SVP. Rosenthal will also continue his role as general counsel.
Five other executives were also named VPs: Chris Bartlow, for IT infrastructure; Jeff Bryant, for database marketing and analysis; Andy Parrott, for technical training and reporting, FCC compliance, fulfillment and inventory management; Frederick Ricker, for corporate tax; and Mike Zarrilli, for government relations, senior counsel.
Rosenthal joined Suddenlink in December 2003 as senior counsel, and he assumed the role of general counsel in April 2005. Prior to joining Suddenlink, he was an attorney with Husch Blackwell Sanders in St. Louis.
* JDSU intros new testing solution

JDSU has introduced the industry’s first field solution to combine 4G and 10G Fiber Channel test support with traditional transport test capabilities such as SONET/SDH, Ethernet and OTN. Available for the T-BERD/MTS-8000 Transport module, the new functionality is engineered to address the growing demands for installation and troubleshooting of Fiber Channel services in Metro networks.
In addition to the Fiber Channel functionality, new features include support for Layer 4 TCP simulation for troubleshooting next-generation Ethernet/IP services, Ethernet client testing capability for 11.05 and 11.1 Gbps OTN networks, and support for the installation and troubleshooting of IPTV networks.
Support for IPTV applications will include monitoring and analyzing MPEG-2 streams, accessing them via Internet Group Multicast Protocol (IGMP) and performing true QoS analysis; including the ability to verify packet loss, packet jitter, media delivery index (MDI), distance error and period errors, program clock reference (PCR) jitter, TR 101 290-based statistics and analyze programs and their packet IDs (PIDs) per stream.
* Comverse bows new mobile advertising tools

Comverse, a supplier of software and systems enabling network-based multimedia enhanced communication and billing services, today announced its newest offering – the Comverse Mobile Advertising Solution.
The product suite includes a mobile ad server, campaign management, ad targeting engine, multi-channel traffic interceptors and data collectors, ad injectors, and billing and reporting tools.

* UTStarcom appoints regional VP, GM for Americas

UTStarcom announced that Diego Martinez has joined the company as the regional VP and GM for the Americas.
Based in UTStarcom’s regional headquarters in Sunrise, Fla., Martinez will lead the company’s sales efforts in Central America, Latin America (CALA) and North America while overseeing a team of sales, engineering and support professionals in more than 30 countries.
Prior to joining UTStarcom, Martinez served as VP of application sales for Alcatel-Lucent and held various positions during his 15-year tenure with the company.
