* Narad expands managerial ranks
Narad Networks has expanded its executive branch, naming David Boymel as vice president of product line management, and William Yan to head the company’s global sales efforts as vice president of international business development.
Boymel joins from C-COR, where he served as director of business development. Yan is late of Corpus, a global IT consulting services firm, and Auspice Corp.
* Aurora adds sales muscle
Optical transport systems specialist Aurora Networks has hired Sam Elliott to the post of director of sales for the Southwest region.
Elliott, who will be based in the Dallas/Fort Worth area, will be responsible for serving Aurora’s customers in Texas, Louisiana, Arkansas and Oklahoma.
Elliott, a 25-year cable vet, most recently served as regional sales manager for Harmonic Inc. He has also held sales management positions at ADC, Juniper Networks and IPITEK, and earlier spent 12 years of his career as a regional sales manager for Telewire/ANTEC (now ARRIS).
* McGee sees Starz
Cable marketing vet Nancy McGee has been appointed senior vice president of marketing for Starz Entertainment.
McGee most recently served as SVP of marketing and sales for Adelphia Communications, whose systems were recently sold to Time Warner Cable and Comcast Corp. Before that, she held senior marketing slots at AT&T Broadband and MediaOne (both are now part of Comcast). She launched her career at US West, now part of Qwest.
“Nancy brings a wealth of experience to Starz,” said Starz Entertainment President & COO Bill Myers, in a statement. “I will look to her to develop the overall Starz brand, building on her experience as a cable operator and branching out to embrace our new initiatives in the online, high-definition and original programming areas.”
