* Mockett to head Motive
Motive Inc., a maker of broadband service provisioning software, has appointed Alfred Mockett to chairman and CEO.
Mockett is a 10-year vet of BT, including as chief exec of BT Ignite, the company’s broadband and Internet services division. More recently, he was chairman and CEO of American Management Systems, an IT consulting and services firm that CGI Group acquired in 2004.
Motive co-founder Scott Harmon resigned as CEO and chairman, but will remain on as a consultant, the company said.
* Aussie IPTV firm picks SecureMedia for protection
Reeltime Infotainment Ltd., an IPTV service operator based in Australia, will protect IP-based video-on-demand services with SecureMedia’s Encryptonite platform.
Reeltime, the companies said, has obtained distribution deals with studios such as Twentieth Century Fox, Sony Pictures, MGM, United Artists, and Columbia Pictures.
Reeltime plans to distribute content to set-tops via a broadband download model.
