* Cablevision to offer IFC flicks day-and-date
Cablevision Systems Corp. reportedly has also signed on to offer films from IFC Entertainment on-demand at the same time they appear in theaters.
Comcast announced similar plans on Tuesday.
* Gotuit appoints VPs
Gotuit Media Corp. has appointed Dan O’Connor to VP of engineering, and Patrick Donovan to VP of product management.
O’Connor most recently was VP of platforms engineering and then SVP of partner integration and operations for TV Guide On Screen, a division of Gemstar-TV Guide International. Donovan joins Gotuit from Motorola, where he helped to direct the vendor’s Whole-Home Media Solution products, including a multi-screen DVR. Before that, he led product management at Ucentric, which was purchased by Motorola last year.
Gotuit said its video-on-demand products are available to more than 550,000 digital subs served by Time Warner Cable and Adelphia Communications.
