* Camiant Policy Controller enables IMS migration
Camiant Inc. announced its Broadband Policy Controller supports IP Multimedia Subsystem (IMS)-based applications across broadband networks.
Policy control is a key component of IMS and provides the quality of service (QoS) and charging capabilities for next-generation networks. Camiant’s policy solution enables service providers to deploy non-IMS to fully-compliant IMS applications.
IMS provides a business framework for service convergence while also enabling operators to support a myriad of Session Initiation Protocol (SIP)-based services including fixed-mobile convergence. Voice-over-IP (VoIP) and other enhanced multimedia applications are driving the need for a policy platform that can ensure that services behave as desired, increasing subscriber satisfaction and guaranteeing superior customer experiences, the company said.
