* FiOS TV strikes again
Verizon’s FiOS TV product has won another franchise, this time in Port Richey, Fla., making the service available to more than 1.9 million Florida residents.
The city voted for competition and against an exclusive cable monopoly, becoming the 13th jurisdiction in the state to award a franchise to Verizon for its digital, all-fiber network, the company said.
The service will initially be offered to about 16,000 of the city’s residents, and Verizon will extend it throughout New Port Richey within the next three years.
